Speaking: Conversation Starters General
Conversation starters general is the foundational A2–B1 speaking skill that opens any social situation. The worksheet covers everyday openers (How’s it going? How was your weekend? What have you been up to?), follow-up responses (Not too bad, can’t complain, the usual), and the polite back-and-forth that prevents conversational silence. Learners build the social-opening fluency that everyday English requires.

Common challenges: Over-formal openers at A2–B1 — How do you do? sounds archaic. The How are you? greeting expects a brief positive answer, not a literal status report. Cultural difference: explicit conversational opening is more important in English-speaking culture than in some others.
