Writing: A For-and-Against Essay
A for-and-against essay is the B2 writing genre for balanced argumentation. The format covers an introduction framing the issue (without taking a position), one or two paragraphs presenting arguments in favour, one or two paragraphs presenting arguments against, and a conclusion that may take a final position or leave the question open. Learners build the balanced-analysis skill that distinguishes B2 from B1 writing.
This worksheet builds B2 writing fluency with for-and-against essay format.
