Writing: A Cover Letter

A cover letter is the B2 writing genre that combines self-presentation with persuasion. The format covers a formal opening (Dear Hiring Manager, Dear Mr/Ms X), a hook paragraph stating the role and the writer’s interest, body paragraphs matching the writer’s experience to the role’s requirements, a closing paragraph expressing enthusiasm and inviting next steps, and a formal sign-off. Learners build the high-stakes self-presentation skill every professional learner needs.

This worksheet builds B2 writing fluency with cover-letter format.
