Emotions and Feelings Vocabulary
Emotions-and-feelings vocabulary is where the -ed / -ing adjective distinction matters most. I’m bored (how I feel) vs the lesson is boring (what causes the feeling). I’m interested in history vs history is interesting. Beyond the -ed/-ing pair, B1 learners need the broader emotional range: anxious, nervous, frustrated, overwhelmed, content, satisfied, proud, disappointed, grateful, irritated, furious, devastated. Intensifiers add precision: slightly, fairly, quite, really, absolutely, extremely shift the emotional dial in everyday usage.
This worksheet builds B1 fluency with emotions vocabulary and the -ed / -ing adjective distinction.

Common challenges: I am boring / I am interesting are the embarrassing classic fossils that this worksheet targets directly. False friends include Spanish embarazada (pregnant, not embarrassed); German peinlich maps to embarrassing, not painful. Strong-vs-weak adjective collocations: absolutely exhausted / very tired (correct) vs absolutely tired / very exhausted (wrong).
For: Adult and teenage learners (14+) at CEFR B1, in intermediate classes, 1:1 lessons, or self-study.
