Online privacy who owns your data is a B2 reading text on a critical contemporary issue. The text covers what personal data companies collect (browsing history, location, contacts, biometric data), how it is used (targeted advertising, AI training, behaviour prediction), legal frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, privacy policies), and practical privacy-protection strategies (VPNs, encrypted messaging, browser settings, data-broker opt-out). Learners read for data-flow identification, policy-distinction, and protection-strategy analysis.
This worksheet builds B2 reading comprehension through a data-privacy text.

Common challenges: Privacy vocabulary at B2 is dense and legalistic — personal data, sensitive data, anonymised, pseudonymised, third party, consent, opt-in, opt-out, breach. Distinguishing between data types and processing types requires precision. Regulatory acronyms: GDPR, CCPA, COPPA. Strategy vocabulary: VPN, encryption, two-factor authentication, end-to-end encryption.
